Alltech has appointed Chew Boon Kee (BK Chew) as general manager for Thailand, Myanmar and Laos, while also naming him APAC key account director, a move that reinforces the company’s leadership bench in Southeast Asia. Based in Bangkok, Chew will lead business strategy and operations across the three markets, supporting Alltech’s continued growth in the region.

In the wider Southeast Asia organization, Chew will join established Alltech leaders Dennis Garcia, responsible for the Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia, and Heng Aik Jin, responsible for Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. The structure signals a continued focus on coordinated, market-specific execution across multiple countries where production systems and customer needs can vary significantly.

Alltech said Chew brings decades of Asia-Pacific experience from the animal nutrition and specialty ingredients industry, with a career spanning animal health, gut health, antibiotic alternatives, precision nutrition and sustainable feed solutions. The company also highlighted his reputation for pairing scientific expertise with commercial leadership.

Before joining Alltech, Chew held senior leadership positions at several global agribusiness and animal nutrition companies. Over the course of his career, he worked with producers across poultry, pork, aquaculture and ruminant sectors, developing customized nutrition programs intended to improve performance, enhance animal health and reduce reliance on antibiotic growth promoters. His technical and commercial experience includes phytogenics, probiotics and bioactive feed additives, with a stated focus on sustainability.

Chew has long served the Asia-Pacific region, including time based in Bangkok, and has led business development across key Southeast Asian markets. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events such as VIV Asia.

Chew holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Purdue University and completed graduate studies in reproductive physiology and endocrinology at the University of Idaho.
