HIPRA has received the “Bien Hecho en Espana” award, a recognition from the Ministry of Industry for its contribution to strengthening industrial and biotechnological strategic autonomy.
The award was presented by King Felipe VI to HIPRA President David Nogareda during the National Industry Congress held in Bilbao, with the attendance of the Spanish Minister of Industry, Jordi Hereu.
HIPRA said the recognition reflects its industrial leadership, continued commitment to innovation, production capabilities, and dedication to health through a One Health approach. The company added that this has enabled it to build a solid, flexible industrial model designed to address both present and future health challenges.
From an animal health economics and business angle, the message behind “strategic autonomy” is closely tied to how prevention and preparedness are financed and delivered: the ability to design, produce, and scale biotech solutions locally is increasingly treated as a competitiveness factor and a resilience lever for health-related supply chains. In that context, production capability is not only a manufacturing point, but also a strategic input that supports continuity in prevention-focused programs.
David Nogareda emphasized the strategic role of industry, stating: “The ability to design, produce, innovate, and compete from here, with our own talent, a long-term vision, and a strong commitment to society, is essential for the country.”
HIPRA said the award strengthens one of the company’s strategic pillars and reaffirms its commitment to global prevention, while recognizing the involvement, talent, and collective effort of the entire HIPRA team.
