HIPRA has moved all of its monodose animal health vaccines to eco-friendly packaging, replacing plastic components with FSC-certified cardboard in a shift that also covers its ruminant portfolio.
The company says the change delivers a virtually 100% reduction in plastic in the packaging itself. Only two recyclable plastic elements remain: the vial’s flip-off cap and the carton’s tamper-evident seal, both kept to protect product safety during transport and use.
For ruminant health, the move puts sustainability around established vaccine lines rather than introducing a new product. That still makes it meaningful, especially as animal health companies face growing pressure to show environmental progress not only in manufacturing, but also in how products are presented and handled across the supply chain.
HIPRA describes the initiative as part of its broader commitment to sustainability and prevention, linking packaging decisions more closely to the environmental expectations now shaping animal health. The original company announcement appears in HIPRA’s animal health news section.
