IFIF announces new leadership team for 2026–2027

11/11/2025

The International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) has announced its new leadership team and Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term, reinforcing its mission to advance safe, sustainable, and affordable feed production worldwide.

At the 38th General Assembly, Constance Cullman, President and CEO of the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), was unanimously elected Chair of IFIF, succeeding Ruud Tijssens, who served as Chair from 2022 to 2025. Delegates also elected Roberto Betancourt, President of the Brazilian Feed Industry Association (Sindirações), as IFIF’s first Vice-Chair, following the adoption of the Federation’s revised Articles of Association.

“I deeply appreciate the honor to serve as Chair of IFIF and the trust members have placed in me,” said Cullman. “IFIF unites diverse voices across the global feed and animal food sectors to deliver safe, nutritious, and sustainable food for animals — and ultimately for people. Collaboration is essential, and I am committed to leading with openness to champion science-based, sustainable practices that strengthen the global feed and food chain.”

Betancourt added, “It is an honor to be elected Vice-Chair. IFIF’s role in representing our industry globally — from Brazil and Latin America to every region of the world — is crucial. I look forward to working together to strengthen IFIF’s voice and foster collaboration across markets.”

The General Assembly also confirmed Dr. Reinder Sijtsma, Director of Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs at Nutreco (Netherlands), as Treasurer for the 2026–2027 term.

The new IFIF Board of Directors includes senior representatives from Cargill, ADM, BASF, Evonik, Alltech, Adisseo, dsm-firmenich, and Elanco, alongside leading national feed associations from the U.S., Europe, China, India, Brazil, and other regions. Collectively, IFIF members represent over 80% of global feed production, underscoring the Federation’s international reach and influence.

Alexandra de Athayde, IFIF Executive Director, congratulated the new leadership, emphasizing that their expertise will guide IFIF “as the united voice of the global feed industry.” She also thanked outgoing Chair Ruud Tijssens for his vision and commitment, which “strengthened IFIF’s foundations and deepened engagement with global stakeholders.”

With global feed production surpassing 1.3 billion tonnes annually and an estimated market value of over USD 570 billion, IFIF’s renewed leadership will play a key role in shaping the industry’s sustainable growth and resilience in the years ahead.
