Nor-Feed, the France-based specialist in plant-based extracts for animal nutrition and health and part of the Adisseo group, has appointed Nicolas Tessier as its new general manager, effective March 1, 2026.
Tessier succeeds Olivier Clech, who will move into a non-executive role on Nor-Feed’s Board of Directors after helping lead the company’s expansion over the past 14 years.
The leadership change comes as botanicals continue to gain attention across the animal health and nutrition market, particularly as producers and suppliers look for solutions that can support performance, welfare and reduced reliance on antibiotics, coccidiostats and pesticides.
Tessier joined Nor-Feed in 2009 and has held roles spanning research and innovation, manufacturing, purchasing and sales. That cross-functional background gives him a strong operational and commercial profile at a time when Adisseo is looking to further develop botanical solutions within its broader specialty portfolio.
In the company’s announcement, Frederic Jacquin, chief operating officer at Adisseo, said Tessier’s leadership and experience would help accelerate the development of botanical solutions within the group. Sebastian Marten, executive director of Adisseo’s Specialties business unit, also said Nor-Feed’s botanical capabilities are increasingly important for integrated solutions aimed at sustainable animal productivity and welfare.
For Nor-Feed, the appointment also signals continuity. Clech, who helped strengthen the company’s international presence, will remain involved through board-level support on long-term strategy and governance.
Founded in Angers, France, Nor-Feed develops and markets plant extracts and specialty ingredients for animal nutrition and health. The company says its portfolio focuses on areas such as oxidative stress, coccidial risk management, antibiotic alternatives and animal welfare, supported by a science-kbased approach to standardization and regulatory positioning. Nor-Feed is also B Corp certified.
From a business perspective, the move underlines how larger animal nutrition groups such as Adisseo are continuing to build out differentiated specialty platforms, with botanicals positioned as part of the next wave of value-added health and productivity tools.
