Royal Canin Turkiye has launched a pioneering Hologrammed QR Code Product Verification System to safeguard pet food authenticity, setting a new benchmark in the local pet nutrition market.
The system, rolled out in July 2025, enables pet owners to instantly verify the originality of their purchased dry food packs by scanning the hologrammed QR code through the Royal Canin Up mobile app. This innovation not only enhances consumer trust but also strengthens food safety standards for cats and dogs in Turkiye.
Each pack now carries a unique, tamper-proof QR code embedded in a hologram. Once scanned, the app confirms product authenticity in real time, reducing the risks associated with counterfeit pet food. By doing so, Royal Canin is addressing a critical economic challenge in the sector: the growing threat of counterfeit animal nutrition products, which can undermine both brand trust and animal health.
Asli Celikkol, Country Manager of Royal Canin Turkiye, underlined that the initiative is not just about security, but also about building long-term confidence across the value chain. She noted that the move will “strengthen the trust of both consumers and business partners, while adding value to the entire ecosystem.”
Beyond product verification, the Royal Canin Up app also provides free nutrition consultancy, authorized retailer search, and pet profile management, offering a holistic digital service model. For Royal Canin, this approach is not only about protecting animal health but also about reinforcing customer loyalty and shaping the future of the pet care economy.
