PRO PLAN® has teamed up with national tennis champion Cagla Buyukakcay for its new campaign “Like a Professional,” highlighting the critical role of balanced nutrition in ensuring pets live healthy, happy, and energetic lives. The campaign launch was marked by a fun tennis event where Buyukakcay played with Felix, the dog of trainer Gamze Aral, showcasing the campaign’s dynamic and positive spirit.
According to research commissioned by PRO PLAN®, 80% of pet owners in Turkiye say their pets’ happiness and wellbeing are among their top priorities. The study also revealed that pets play a vital role in reducing stress and enhancing quality of life—encouraging owners to care for their furry companions like professionals.
Nutrition with a Professional Touch
PRO PLAN®, known for its science-based pet nutrition, launched the “Like a Professional” initiative to underline how structured routines, balanced diets, and consistent care—similar to those of top athletes—can enhance pets’ health and vitality.
The global campaign brings together five tennis stars and their pets, including Cagla Buyukakcay and her cat Izo, Andy Murray and his dog Bonnie, Jasmine Paolini and her dog Cesare, as well as Elina Svitolina & Gael Monfils with their dog Wizz—all inspiring owners to approach pet care with the same discipline as a professional athlete.
Buyukakcay and Izo: A Powerful Duo
In her remarks, Buyukakcay drew parallels between her training routine and how she cares for Izo:
“For professional athletes, every meal and routine matter. I apply the same care to Izo’s nutrition and wellbeing. Looking after our pets like professionals means paying attention not only to their diet but also to their happiness, regular vet visits, and playtime. Spending time with Izo strengthens our bond and helps me unwind.”
She added that Izo’s companionship plays a key role in her mental focus and motivation, especially before and after matches:
“Pets can sense our emotions. They lift us up when we’re stressed or tired—this bond is true friendship.”
New Insights into Pet Ownership in Turkiye
Conducted by Censuswide in September 2025 with 1,000 cat and dog owners, the study revealed that 91% of Turkish pet owners believe their pets improve their mental wellbeing, while 88% say their pets make their lives significantly more meaningful. Moreover, 76% reported increasing their spending on pet health and care compared to the previous year.
