The Turkish veterinary community has witnessed a landmark event in professional education and networking. TuVECCA (Turkish Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Association) organized “Blue Summit 2026”, becoming the first organization in Türkiye's animal health sector to hold an international scientific symposium aboard a cruise ship sailing in international waters.
The three-day floating symposium brought together approximately 650 veterinarians and featured an extensive scientific program focusing on small animal dermatology. International experts Dr. Jerome Ngo (Belgium) and Dr. Filippo De Bellis (United Kingdom) delivered comprehensive lectures on the latest advances in the diagnosis and management of dermatological diseases in cats and dogs. Alongside the scientific sessions, participants also visited two islands during the voyage, combining continuing education with professional networking and social interaction.
Commenting on the event, Aytekin Kamber, Congress President and Board Member of TuVECCA, said:
"We are proud to have organized a first for Türkiye's animal health sector. Veterinarians in our country work under demanding conditions, and beyond scientific education, they also need opportunities to strengthen professional solidarity and spend quality time together. We believe Blue Summit 2026 successfully achieved both objectives."
The event was professionally planned and managed by Opteamist, whose organizational expertise played a key role in the success of the symposium. By combining high-level scientific education with a unique social experience at sea, TuVECCA Blue Summit 2026 has introduced an innovative concept that may serve as a model for future veterinary congresses both in Türkiye and internationally.
