Virbac Animal Health has broadened its U.S. cattle portfolio with the launch of four new bovine vaccines aimed at protecting herds against major respiratory and reproductive diseases. The products, developed in collaboration with Diamond Animal Health, address some of the most prevalent conditions affecting animal performance and farm profitability across the U.S. beef and dairy industries.
Strengthening preventive health in the ruminant sector
Respiratory illnesses and leptospirosis remain two of the most common and costly challenges in cattle production, often reducing weight gain, reproductive performance, and overall herd productivity. By introducing targeted protection against several key pathogens — including multiple strains of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVD) and Leptospira hardjo bovis — Virbac reinforces its position in the preventive health market, supporting veterinarians and producers with adaptable tools for different herd systems and management scales.
The company’s partnership with Diamond Animal Health leverages a century of combined experience in vaccine manufacturing and quality assurance. Dr. Fabrice Payot, vice president of new business for Virbac USA, described the collaboration as “a great pairing of companies with an excellent track record of consistent supply and proven safety.”
Market and operational focus
The launch underlines Virbac’s continued investment in the North American ruminant segment, a market characterized by growing demand for preventive and welfare-driven health solutions. The vaccines are designed to streamline veterinary practice through color-coded labels, simplifying administration in farms where multiple immunization programs are implemented.
According to Giovanni Abbruzzini, CEO and president of Virbac North America, the initiative reflects the company’s “commitment to anticipating farmer needs” and its strategic goal of reducing antibiotic use through vaccination and prevention.
As global attention intensifies on disease prevention, welfare, and antibiotic stewardship, the expansion strengthens Virbac’s commercial footprint in the U.S. while aligning with the sector’s transition toward sustainable, efficiency-driven cattle production.
