For young veterinary researchers, the 33rd World Buiatrics Congress in Istanbul is expected to offer more than a scientific programme. It will provide direct access to international expertise, professional networks and new perspectives on the future of livestock health.
Speaking to The Animal Economics, Pelin Erden, a research assistant at Uludag University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, said hosting the Congress in Türkiye is a source of excitement and pride for young researchers.
She also highlighted the importance of Istanbul as the host city. Beyond its geographical role connecting continents, Erden said Istanbul can serve as a bridge for knowledge by bringing together different scientific approaches, experiences and professional communities.
For early-career academics, the Congress is particularly valuable because it can create inspiration at an important stage of professional development. Researchers attending the event will have the opportunity to learn from experienced scientists, follow current developments in bovine medicine and livestock production, and build connections that may support their future work.
Erden said the knowledge and experience shared by invited speakers could contribute not only to the professional development of individual participants, but also to the future of animal husbandry and veterinary science in Türkiye.
She will also take part in the Congress as a scientific contributor. Erden said her team plans to attend with three poster presentations and one oral presentation in their field of research.
For young researchers seeking to advance in academia, the 33rd World Buiatrics Congress is likely to be a significant opportunity to present their work, gain visibility and engage directly with the international bovine-health community.
